I found an old handset and charger yesterday and I was wondering if there would be anything usefull I could use out of it! I posted some pics of the battery and battery hook up. looks like they might be airworthy. I also found the LED's use to backlight the keys and screen. :D I am thinking I could use those three things for somthing. anything else I could use out of it?? perhaps the entena. anything I could modify for electronic purposes???
give me your thoughts.
thanx

I was wondering about that also, I have a local liquidation store that has surplus cordless phone batteries. I've had poor results with cell phone lipos in my bladerunner heli due too the discharge rate exceeding the c rating of the batts. I'd like to try 2 of those 3cell ni/mh cordless phone batteries as a small flight pack but I'm not shure how many amps they can support without hurting them.

Big reason they get dumped is the batt starts to fail. Easy to checkout tho. Typically 600mAH nicads, not the best bats.
LEDS are usually chips, drive with 10ma to test. Keyboard may be useable. Radio maybe, but it can be a job to get it apart from the rest of the pieces.
You might find some useful connectors, misc metric fasteners, etc.
I tried using one for a remote controler. Keypad generates touchtones, went to RX and then decoded digits. Worked pretty good, downside was its kindof a klunky remote...cheap though...
