a search for it was done and there were no hits.

yes, it's a BASIC language that will run on Windows XP.

with its serial comm and color graphics capability it appears
attractive for potential app's like taking flite data from a PIC
chip's memory and plotting it. battery voltage and motor
current perhaps.

the trial version is not time-limited. this allows new users
all the time they need to learn how to get it to do something
useful.

if this is news to you here is a place to start :

http://www.libertybasic.com

if you have been using it and have had some success
then would you mind letting us in on it

or tell us if there is a forum somewhere that r/c'ers
who are using it meet

I know it's trendy to hate MS, but this would be my choice.

State of the art Visual Studio, not too hard to learn and free!

FWIW, I recently installed microsoft vstudio basic and had a working com-port program
(of sorts) working in a couple of days, never having written a windows program before
in my life (though I'm otherwise experienced with comm and C and such.) I was
relatively pleased with the degree to which it was possible to create GUI things without
needing to delve into the details of how they worked. Source and stuff here:

Another GUI contender is http://www.realbasic.com, which apparently runs on
linux, macos, AND windows. But it's not free and the demo has a time limit.
