Hello everybody,
I am new to this forum, as a start, I would first like to know what exactly DIY electronics are?
Sorry for the dumb question!

Hi gguy,
DIY, as in "do it yourself" where folks like to build their own electronics projects or modifications, from battery chargers, to whatever :) , Psst, don't repeat this, but some of them have been known to let out the "magic smoke" from time to time , but you didn't hear that here :D

To be honest, this website has enough forums, making it both time consuming and sometimes confusing to navigate. IMO we don't really need another forum, especially if the invention or idea is electronics based.
With all due respect, you're new to RC groups, have a fairly low post count, and your first post in this forum is telling everyone that you have approached the moderators to start a new section. Personally I feel that whilst your concept might be sound, it will make navigation difficult. If I came up with a modification or invention that was the dogs b****x for use on a submarine, I would have more interest posting my idea on the subs forum than on yours. This will then lead to duplicate posts as for max coverage I might want to post here in DIY electronics if it was elecronics based, and then I would find your section and post in there.. each post takes up server space, and cross posting is frowned upon by the community.
Having one section on DIY Electronics is better as its one central location for anyone seeking advice, building, promoting or dare I say it, selling their own devices.
