I've found a way to play RealFlight as an RC Sim. It is already there except that it may be confusing for beginners.

1) The trick is to set the view to Tower View, Look At.

There are 6 views initially set up in the preferences.xml file in the C:\Program Files\FlightGear\data directory.

I enabled only 3, with the Tower View, Look At, as the top part of the document, so that when we first start Flightgear, it will default to Tower View Look At( At the Plane).

2) Know the position of the Tower.
You can set the position of the tower, in the preferences.xml file, but when you change to the set-able location inside FlighGear, you cannot revert to this location any more.

Flightgear is designe so that tower locations are programmed inside the airport database.

However it is nice to have an ability to change it to an arbitrary location, despite it being messy. We don't have to set-up our airport first.

3) Know the location of your aircraft.
To get my view in the attachment, you must set the locations as:
longitude -122.382 and lat:37.6223, bearing 220, in the menu set location of "aircraft in the air".

Flightgear allows inputs only in degrees but displays in degrees and minutes.
You must convert them into degrees only format, i.e. by dividin the minutes by 60, and use it as the decimal to the degree.

The title says Realflight but you are talking about FLightGear, right?
