Hello,

I made a purchase from United Hobbies in late Novemeber and received the items on Friday the 8th. The packing was nicely done and all the items look to be in good condiction (I haven't tried them out yet--a variety of ESC's, a UBEC and some servos). However, they shipped me the wrong motor (they shipped an A20-20L instead of an A22-20L). I sent out an e-mail to sales on Friday evening, my time, and this morning I received a response from Karen. UH offered to sell me the motor I received at a considerable discount and to ship the motor I originally ordered for free. They also said I could ship the motor I have back and they would ship out the originally ordered motor once they received the other motor back from me. I decided to purchase the motor sent to me at the discounted price.

I have bought many items in the past several years from many different vendors and, from time to time, it seems all vendors make mistakes with the orders. What separates out the 'good' from the 'bad' is how they handle their mistakes. I am satisfied with the way UH has handled this mistake so far ( I still need to get my other motor!!) and if this is any indication of how they handle problems generally then certainly they seem to be worth consideration when purchasing something.

I will send follow ups to let everyone know how the rest of the process (my getting the originally ordered motor in a timely manner) plays out.

Regards,

Eusebio

They have done same thing with me.

This is a nice tactic for the seller, to sell you more items that you want.
And if you accept the offer, thing goes well, instead... if you want to send it back for a replacement, you never get the correct item.

It's 1 month now that i'm waiting my 2 right Hextronik PRO 18A ESC, and i have sended back the wrong items they sold me....
Until now... nothing... no answer from UH, no package into my mailbox...

Their customer service seems to be excellent, even if their warehouse seems a bit backward. I'll continue to buy from them.

Just a quick update:

As I mentioned in my original post, Karen at UH said I could keep the incorrect motor UH shipped for a discounted price. Karen said I could pay the difference to 'accounts@unitedhobbies.com' and UH would ship the originally ordered motor for free. After this sequence of e-mails I decided I wanted to order some additional items so I asked Karen if UH could issue me a 'coupon' in the amount of the difference so I could input this coupon code at checkout. She issued me the coupon and I placed an order two days ago and the checkout went smoothly.

According to my gmail account there were 7 e-mails exchanged between Karen and myself. She responded to each inquiry I sent within 24 hours.

When I receive my new order I will post a follow-up.

Eusebio

As indicated in my last post I placed an order at UH on Dec 14 for the motor I originally ordered, 3 servos, some servo extension wires and an additional motor (the HXT35-36 1000kV). The HXT showed 5 in stock at the time of the order. Unfortunately, when the order got processed I guess the HXT's had sold out and went on backorder. After several weeks the motors were restocked and my order was shipped out last week.

The package arrived today and, as for the first package, everything was well wrapped and packed. This time the order was correct.

Would I order from UH again. Most definitely.

Eusebio

As an aside, the HXT looks to be very well made. I hope to test it sometime soon and report in the Power Systems about its performance.
