Thats pretty amazing stuff. It would be interesting see how this would stack up in F3b...got a feeling you could ace the duration and distance task, not sure about speed, but who knows...awesome braking power too, onto a winner there...
Its going to cost a packet though isn't it...

Thanks Herbert. No price on the 5000 yet but lots of Euro's for the 4000, very nice all the same. Here is another must see video. Ouch! (http://www.sport-klemm.de/projekt01/media/video/Baumkrone%20hoch.wmv)

There is only one FS 4000 in North America, guess there will be not many 5000 either .
Btw: why is this posted in the Thermal section (the FS isn’t a real floater)

Btw: why is this posted in the Thermal section (the FS isn’t a real floater)I didn't know there was connection between thermaling and floating, Thomas? :)
A colleagues ancient 7kg+ Rowing 4m scale LS6 thermaled like a home-sick angel in a flat-field environment. The FS strikes me as a perfect thermal seeking machine, able to explore out to the limits of visibility on four points of the compass and zip home from any direction. Floaters are great to fly, but for me being able to go looking for lift rather than waiting for it to find me makes a world of difference to the grin factor.
Thanks for the video link, pteromorph. Fabulous ship. One of these days... :D

Hi John
you mentioned the Rowing LS6 as an floater.
I never handcatched my one, lol ( that my definition of an floater ).
Electrified it was 17 lbs.
The size just make them look slow in the air...as you know
neither I would try this with the 14 lbs FS.
Waiting for a good slope video of the FS5000, possible in a few month...
Cheers

In another part of the field the 100S comp was running (100", r/e/s only). A gaggle of these were in a thermal and climbing away. The LS6, power off, joined the thermal lower down, started circling and gained height faster than the lightweight 100" ships. Nice photo. Think there's still a Rowing 3.1m Impuls buried in the shop somewhere...
Hard to believe the FS5000 is 14lbs when it winch launches so easily.
Cheers, John
