Anyone else here on sympatico?
It seems like sympatico is rejecting emails from rcgroups, so I have not been getting my notifications.
According to Mike at rcgroups the connection to the email server just gets reset, no errors or anything.
I am curious if others are having the same problem.

Thanks,

Pat MacKenzie

I am on Sympatico, but don't use their email servers. :) My mom is also on Sympatico, and had no end of trouble with their email services. Moved her to gmail, and she's had no more troubles. Why not try gmail?

Is gmail similar to hot mail, ie web based?
I like the sympatico method of sending the emails to my computer. This is the first issue I have had.
Mike at rcgroups has been very helpful, but blames sympatico.
Sympatico has been less than helpful, blaming rcgroups email server without really looking into it.
I will try to get some higher level help than the on line tech who asked what anti virus software I was running
I had already pointed out that this was an email server to email server problem, and provided a snippet of the log rcgroups had provided.

gmail is best known as web based. But it also supports POP/SMTP (what Sympatico does).

It's still invitation only, though getting an invite is stupidly easy. Let me know if you want one.

If it does POP/SMPT (pretending to know what that all means :o ) I can set up a separate account in Mozilla and use it for rcgroups.
How do you get an "invite"?

I just joined here a short while ago.
Guess what I do for a living.
"Thankyou for calling Sympatico Technical Support. May I have your user ID starting with b1?"
Blaah!! Hehe.

Where were you a few days ago!
This problem seems to have resolved itself.
The online tech support (net assistant) from Sympatico was a waste of time. They blamed rcgroups of course  .
The jerk either couldn't or wouldn't give me any access to anyone further up the food chain.
I don't know which end had the problem, but I tried to explain to the guy that at the sympatico end they get my money,
so perhaps they might assist rcgroups in fixing their end. His retort was a link to a reading comprehension web site.
