Hi,

I am building a Wing Manufacturing A-26 Invader. I want to use mechanical retracts.
I emailed Great Planes to verify my selection of GPMQ2910 Mechanical Retracts .60
(http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUY33&P=7)
for the wings and HCAP4020 for the Nose. They said it would work.

I got my order from Tower today and the GPMQ2910 fold into the wings, not back!!
These will not work. Am I missing something, can I rotate the strut? Does not
seem like it, not a very good lock-down from that angle.

So, did "Susie" from "Product Support" steer me wrong?
If so, what gear do I need, don’t see any other option from Great Planes for
.60 size...

Thanks!

I can't see the problem, apart from them being 88 rather than 90 degree retracts. You just point them backwards instead of along the wing. You will need to use a bellcrank to turn the pushrod in front of the unit. Afaik, no-one makes a unit with the pushrod coming out of the side and an internal bellcrank within the retract unit.

OK, figured it out. Rotated the strut with the inset allen Opened the case and realized it is suppose to lock in BOTH up or down positions. Was binding up and only locking in the up position, hence my confusion.
