Looking for a Koyosho radio control surfer Dude or Lisa. Electronics and power not an issue... just want a sound board with rider in fair shape. Will consider RTR or hopped up also. Thanks

Have a look at the RC surfer thread in Boat Videos. There is some contact info in there for the original Kyosho version.

Buyer Beware. This is not the Surfer Dude. It looks like a Chinese copy of the Lisa.

Buyer Beware. This is not the Surfer Dude. It looks like a Chinese copy of the Lisa.
Thanks for the heads up Crashaholic - If that is the case, then he is committing the federal offense of Mail Fraud and also a fraud on ebay - he is using the real, "stock" photos of Kyosho Lisas and Dudes in his auction - a miss-representation. I have an original, new in box, Kyosho Lisa and some of the photos used in the auction are of the real Lisa and Dude.
I feel bad recommending this auction to others now... and he has sold over 15 in recent weeks... no feedback yet from those sales...
Sometimes ebay is :censored: :censored:
I have not communicated with the seller but would now advise potential buyers to specifically ask the seller if this is the original and a genuine Kyosho Lisa model...

Found the same Surfer Lisa's at NITRO R.C. THUNDER. They say all parts interchange with the originals and all hop up parts sold by R.C. SURFER will fit. Price was a little higher than the E-Bay seller but they knew the product better and offered a package with a speed prop and upgradeed N.I.M.H 3300 battery pack, plus a 15% discount and free shipping. Total cost $135,15 with upgrades and shipping. I will report back on the quality and performance... If not satisfied R.C. SURFER sells all parts to make it really scoot!

I only warn because I got a knockoff. I didnt even take it in waves and it lasted through 1.5 batteries. Notice that he didnt once say that it was made by Kyosho. Good luck with yours.
On a more positive note, you can definitely use the hull as a base for modifications. Thats what I plan to do. Actually, I am hoping to make a mold of mine and make my own fiberglass one :D That is probably going to be a rainy season project ;) There is a yahoo group for the surfer... check it out:

I have confrimation from a guy that bought one, that this is not an original Kyosho Lisa but the cheap, crap, chinese knock-off, even though the ebay seller uses photos of the original surfer in his auction. The seller has committed mail fraud and ebay fraud and I hope he gets reported to ebay. And sued by the Post Office for the federal offense of Mail Fraud...
Here is the link to his current auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/RC-SURFER-LISA-RADIO-CONTROLLED-SURFER-RC-SURFER-RTR_W0QQitemZ170055069011QQihZ007QQcategoryZ2564QQ rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Please check 1st with the seller by asking questions or do not buy.
Sorry I was miss-lead by the photos in the auction. :censored: bad ebay sellers...

i have one, modified by rcsurfer.com, i sent a new original lisa i payed $180 for and then had rcsurfer.com modify to the pro version for $200.00. when i got it back i put her into my pool to test everything out and it was fast. i did hit the nose of the board on the side of the pool, cause a small crack, i epoxied it and it looks new again. that was the last time it saw water. i got it back from rcsurfer back in june of this year.
who ever wants my lisa its yours for $325.00 shipped. its the modified pro version.

thanks.. I got the one from tko...
it's a lot of fun, though the weather has been mostly crappy and/or windy since I got it. It took me a little while to get the hang of it, but I have gotten some nice rides.
I tried to order some parts from rcsurfrider, but they haven't returned phone messages or email... anybody know anything about them?
Thanks!

Due to need of cash, I'm selling my Kyosho RC Lisa, fully upgraded to pro level by rcsurfrider.com.
It's got less than 2 hours use on it.
Bought it recently from tkoguy (through these forums)... he had never run it, though he had tested it in his pool once and got a small ding on the nose, which he repaired nicely with epoxy.
Everything's in perfect order.
It's fully upgraded by rcsurfrider.com:
http://rcsurfrider.com/store/#stocktopromod
Includes the following parts and installation:
19 turn motor, water-cooled esc, Rcsurfrider sticker kit, mod motor coil, performance prop, Dean's ultra-plugs, waterproofed antenna, standard BB servo + single fin rudder steering system, cooling fins, plumbing, balancing and more.
Plus, I'm including the charger and batteries I bought for it.
Dynamite Twin Peak (http://www.dynamiterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN4033) - charges 2 batteries at once, ac/dc operation
and also a pair of 4200 Ni-MH batteries... the biggest capacity you can get (they cost $50 each)
It also includes a Kyosho radio with high capacity Ni-MH batteries in it.
Everything's been switched over to the Dean's Plugs required by the rcsurfrider mod.
I have just ordered a new Chameleon 2 Pro Motor (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&P=WR&I=LXAVJ4) which I will install before I sell... so that may take a few days depending on how fast they ship.
I have over $550 in this... I'll let it go for $450.
Anyone interested can drop me a line at:

Pettybone,
I just got my new Chameleon Pro motor installed yesterday, so she's ready to go if you're interested.
As I said in my last post, this one's fully Pro Modded original Lisa and really rips.
The 2 battery packs are 4200's and the charger is a dual charger.
Let me know if you're intetested.
If you just want the Lisa without the charger and batteries, I'll let her go for $325.
Whole package - $450.
Cheers
Russell

The wallmart brand works, it surfs very well. The stock motor is not that fast but ok. alot of the parts from other rc surfers are exchangeable. I have only had to upgrade the motor to a Komodo 19 turn, I have another 19 turn in it now and it flies on water and gets serious air off of waves. Not bad for 99 bucks plus 40 bucks for a upgraded motor, 25 bucks for a spare batt, cheaper and same amount of FUN !! if it works go with it...........

I have just managed to find a kyosho lisa and want to upgrade it. Most of the forums seem to be dead now. Can anyone advise me on what parts I should change and where I can get them from preferably in the UK? Are there any build threads?
Thanks
