This question is for all airfoil gurus out there! On a built up SD7037 wing with 10.25" chord and a span of 120" with the flap being 26.825 spanwise what is the "optimum" chord/"width" of the flap for reflex and camber control. this for a TD ship

Flaps with widths of 20 to 25% of the chord will work very well.

I was about to post the same numbers, but Ollie was faster than me !
Some years ago, I had the original Multiplex Alpina ( 4m wingspan), which did not come with flaps ( The newer version, the Alpina 4001, does ).
I decided I wanted to retrofit flaps, and had the luck of getting a hold of the guy who at the time worked for Multiplex and designed the original Alpina.
He recommended a depth of 22% for the flaps, and it worked very well.

I am looking at flap chord of 2.05" at 20% or 2.5625"=2 9/16" at 25% I take it more is better? As long as it does not hit the ground before the fuselage? :)
