View Full Version : Discussion Where Do You Sell Your RC Equipment?

Where do Canadians sell to Canadians? The classified section here is 95% American, and the border shipping costs make selling some stuff problematic. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Creosote.

Actually, I have some nitro motors in different sizes that I was looking into selling... (I only fly electric) They do sell used stuff at the LHS, but the cost to sell it there is a little prohibitive. I'm guessing if it's only a few items you could post it here in the Canadian section. But I'm not sure at what point the mods would cut you off and send your thread to the For Sale section.

Any one have any ideas of where to sell your RC stuff to Canadians?

I would like to chime in. I also find it somewhat troublesome to buy and sell stuff here. I have used RCCanada but the response is slow (people, including myself don't look too often) and the exposure limited.
Now Corey, I've looked into the Aussie section and they have a FS thread. To simplify and not crowd the section, they only post the For Sale or Wanted ad and people contact each other by PM. When the item is sold, the original poster edits it with a SOLD in the title or something.

I think is about time we start something like that here? Let's hear from other people.

I think that would be a great idea! It might even bring more of us Canucks to the Canadian section more often... Even if just to browse.

I think the problems is, I have found shipping "some" items to the States is more feasible that shipping within Canada. If it is a small item, you can get it sent to US as a "small package" for $5 (can't remember weight restriction before it jumps to $10). So selling something within Canada isn't any better off, unless it's for local pickup..
I still like the idea though.. :)

Well, I'm a fan of the tracking. It's nice not to have to worry about "I didn't get it" issues. And that triples the cost (for small items) to the States right there.

I agree that a Canadian buy and sell would be nice. It would be a pretty small site though, and probably more seasonal than this one.

I think Corey should start the selling with those glow engines :)

Sounds good to me. I'll get on the task of taking some pics and posting a thread as soon as I have some time. Keep an eye out for it.

RCCanada!

Things almost always sell within a week, plus the option for local pickup/delivery is nice.
