Hey everyone. I hope you have a few ideas for me.
I want to make a bomber that drops like three or 5 snowballs but one is even fine. I wouldn't mind knowing how to make a remote door to drop them and what kind of plane i need to do this. I was told the bigger the better. And please try not to use too much techie stuff without explaining it. This isn't one of my strong points. I was looking at a b-29 superfortress for this project but I don't know if it would work. CAn someone please help me out in making a snowball bombre? I hear something about a servo but what is that?
Any input would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks

maybe something like a C-119 recocnized by the HUGE load it could carry in format with it size, but its a complicated designe ,so if simplenes is what your looking for take the B-52 ,its simple ,nice and carry a bigger load then anything else

radarman,
First, welcome to the ezone. You will be able to find a ton of help and information here. I would recommend you start reading in the begginer/training area and learn the basic terminology used with r/c planes. Until you understand what a servo, rx, tx and esc are and do, you will not be able to understand anyones explanation of how to build your bomber.
Second, learn to build and fly a basic trainer type airplane. You will need to know how to do this if you are going to be able to build a bomb release and fly over the target you want to hit.
I am basing this advise on the assumtion that you do not already know how to fly. If you did you would know what a servo is. The hobby/sport of building and flying model airplanes can be very rewarding and educational. Like all things in life worth doing you need to learn to walk before you can run and you need to be able to run before you can fly. Best of luck and I hope before to long you will be dropping those snowballs right down the pickel barrel.

Ok thanks john but don't worry about my experiance. I just want to know if this is feasable and how would I do it. Use any terms you want but pleasse just let me know how to do it and how much it would cost. I'll worry abuot my experiance when the time comes.
Ok the C-113?
Or the B-52?
If I used them how would I install the device.
And if you can't tell me that, them pllease tell me how to make a remote switch on the plane to power anything I had on it.
thanks

radarman,
Make sure you carry the load on the airplanes center of gravity so it will remain the same loaded or unloaded. If the plane is large enough you can cut a door in the bottom of the fuselage and hinge it along one side. Use a servo actuated latch on the other side. Operate the servo with any unused auxillary channel on your radio.
If the fuselage is not large enough to carry the load inside build a box with the hinged bottom and hang it under the fuselage.
As to a remote switch, there are commercial solid state circuits available that will do this with no moving parts or simply trip a micro switch, rated for your intended load, with a servo actuated with an unused aoxillary channel on your radio system.
hope this helps

Snowballs are weighty objects..
I've dropped 6 ping-pong balls from this mailing tube with servo from a Yard Stick.

Hobby lobby sells one that you can look at and make one similar to it. Here is the link.

Multiplex Cargo- already set up with a large bomb bay. I carried 2.5lbs of candy up in mine (in B-17 paint scheme) and found that tootsie rolls from 200 feet really hurt.

Yeah, but Sparky's can do six releases per flight.

you could put four of those in a Cargo and have 24! :)

sorta new to rc, but how big do u want this ac? if there's no real limit, try taking a large glider, motorize it with a gas motor, and put not a snowball, but a molded snow snowbomb molded with a pvc pipe
