i have a CC brushless controller, the controller has no ill effects but one of the FETs have burned thru the plastic covering, can the FET still be good even though it got hot enough to burn the plastic?
thanks jeff

Which CC controller?
Do you have a picture you can post?
Are you sure it is one of the FETs. and not one of the BEC chips?
The two BEC chips are on the same side as the CPU.
The FETs are all on the other side.

If it really is one of the FET's then it has probably gone open circuit as the ESC is still working. You will now have lost some of your current carrying capability, so as long as you reduce the current it may continue to give good service.

That is a FET.
If it was mine I would send it back to Castle.
They might just swap the ESC for a new one. Worst case would be less than 50% of the new cost.
Worst case pricing is here:

If it does fail it could take out the motor and/or the heli.
