I'm from South America.
A guy that I know is going to Toronto, so I've asked him if he could bring me a radio transmitter, he said ok. Stuff in USA and Canada is much cheaper than here.
I have no idea about canadian taxes.
I would like to buy from towerhobbies.com and ship to Toronto. Am I going to have to pay any taxes, customs or any other thing?
Can you tell me where to buy a Futaba 6EXAS, either online or at any shop?

Buying from the USA and shipping to Canada will cost you too much in both taxes and shipping.
Your friend can buy the radio in Canada and pay the taxes.
When he leaves the country, he can pick up a form from Canada Customs (at the airport) before he leaves, and he can send the form and receipt from his home country and apply for a full tax refund. It takes a few months, but the refund is almost always given.
Here is a Toronto area hobby store:

Thanks for the information.
I don't want to pay taxes, nor wait for refunds, so I'm going to buy it in Canada, either online or at any shop.
It's good to know about that shop, but unfortunately it's quite expensive.
I've already found this Futaba radio in some stores.
I thank anyone who can give me other links or addresses other than these.
If you can, also tell me if they're good stores and if I can trust them.

Skylined,
There is no way to escape the sales taxes, which has two components depending on the Canadian province. One is the federal tax (6%) and the provincial tax (7.5% in the case of Quebec).
Now if you buy the radio in a physical store, I mean, you go and pick up your radio, then you pay both taxes. If you buy online and the business is located in another province, then most likely you only pay federal tax.
Take a look at the post "where do you buy your RC stuff?", there are many stores named here in Canada.
Hope this helps,
Pedro.
PS: Even if you buy online, but the store is in the same province you pay both taxes.

Buying radio from US does not make sense for your 6EX.
I would either ask your friend to bring one to you from the state, as a gift item. He will need to pay tax at the border at 7~14%.
Or, you may buy from Candian based online store. Great Hobby or Hobby Whoesale is good and good on shipping charges (~$10).
What's the difference of price between US and AJ hobby in Canada anyways?
Take care.

I'm going to buy at Great Hobbies.
They replied my mail quite quick, not as other stores.
They've been nice and they're the only ones that said that it was ok to switch the receiver that comes in the box (FM) by the one that I want (PCM) for just some extra cash.
Pa0222 thank you for the tip. :)
That's where I got some of the links.
rkhoo I was going to buy in US because I didn't know online canadian stores, at least that I could trust.
Thanks for your help guys. ;)
