In fact, I have my own planning for UAV almost 1 years. However my budget is limited and some personal matter have to settle. thus, the whole project nearly postpone 2 years.
Recently I got enough budget and some critical item (Not available before) is available in the market. then, I can proceed further about the UAV development.
Also, I would like to have some professional comment from other expert who have experience to build UAV (frankly speaking I am not sure whether I can got successful in this development). Thus, I specially put all my resource and progress in my blog.

Hope you can share with me your comment and professional advise.

I also intend to try this subject out but I will go the longer route I.E. try to do it more cheaply even if it takes longer using simulators first
I will opt to try to do a simulatar of everthing first that test out the hardware and then install, it in planes
There are others having good results install and fly direct such as french paratzi team so my method is more for the budget bottom feeders like me who realy only want to spend money on something that wont break planes
Your Yahoo site is in Chinese and mostly causing a large loss of information for english speaking western computers like mine as it is full of squares to replace the Chinese symbols and means people cant send you emails direct if they wished too
I have a Hong Kong Chinese friend qualified in computers from the college course I do at night time in computers with several Hong Kong laptops who can translate for me but that wont be an option for a lot of people
Are your HTML abilties good eneogh to make the yahoo page totaly blank and remove this issue or if not I can get my Hong Kong friend to forward the html onto you how to make the yahoo pages blank and so not have these issues in that you can have seperate chinese and english
What you do is interesting as you can often obtain the electronic items quickly and cheaply in Hong Kong compared to us in northern europe
my own requirements UAV are for ground avoidance and tight circuit high speed flying for f5d and dynamic soaring and model aotoland for radio failure or vision wipe out from fog etc at a price that a whole lot less than the $5000 systems I seen on this forum that seem to work well
So if I see a system that can do this and the prices are in the low few hundred $ what I can hope to afford then I will either copy it if it is open source or buy it if it for sale
The chinese government proposes to make a gps system with 30 metre accuracy with milatary options more better and civil systems in china will probably have access to GEO stationary satilite gps modifiers that allow good accuracy like 10 metres or less similar to what North America enjoy presently
So For me I have to dezin around the the american system that exists now or the future european sysem that might happen but other than than should all be very similar stuff
Hopefully your project work out well for you
my project links are these in case you want to add on anything relevant

Hi brianhomer,
I am also living in Hong Kong and have intetesting in developing micro UAV. I have experience in avr C programming for atmega chips but I don't have much experience in radio control model plane. I will start to try the successful work from others such as UAV Paparazzi System.

It is a complete system which consist of hardware and software support for ARM or AVR. And It also include a stimulator to stimate different UAVs. great!
To start with, you just download a Live Knoppix CD from its website and it will boot up linux system consisting all the software you need to start with. Yes. It is very easy to start with!
I am now studing the software and will focus on the software development first. Hope we can join together.
Last, I visted your blog and appreciated your work done. Great!
Mike
