Well many of you probably know me that I had built a Sig 4-Star from a kit and it flew great. Then it crashed... :( But I had to wait for the ARF for a month because I didn't feel like building it again... I only had time for 4 flights but I think that's a great day for me! No crashes!!! It was great, we are still breaking in the engine and what not though. It's still fun! I think I might go out in a few minutes and try taking off by my self but I don't know if I'm ready for landing. Maybe next time.

Oh man today was a great day! My trainer took it up for me and he noticed it wasn't real good. It was barley starting, and couldn't go full RPM. So we replaced the plug and that did it. So this flight, I felt confident to land. It took me about 3 approaches to finally get it good enough. They were great in line with the run way just was either too fast or too high. So 3rd approach... Was looking ok a little over the grass runway too.(right next to paved runway) I landed on pavement it was a little rough bounced a few times but I will admit... Taxiing back was harder than landing... I then felt confident to try my first take off. Yeah I landed before I took off... haha But any ways it was one hell of a take off. Because I am horrible at taxiing still, I went out onto the run way and I was about to throttle up, bit of a cross wind so it spun me around because I jerked the ruder too fast. I turned alllllllllllllll the way around but more. So I decided hell with it. Throttled up and I took off the CROSS ways like not long ways the wide way HAHAHAHAHA But I go up and it was ok, then the landing was better this time... But my instructor was flying his own plane so I was all by my self. No one standing next to me. YES!! FIRST SOLO BABY!!!! It feels great!

sweet good job on the solol. I rmeber when i started about take off (i couldnt evan keep constant altitude in a banked turn) so the instructor told him it was harder then it looked he then gave me the contors and told me to taxie.. man that was hard.. I came the next day 1 houre before i knew anyone would be there and guess what i practiced now id like to think i can taxie half decently.

Sounds like you got it down pat no try touch and goes and things like that to inporove your approches.

Day 2: Better take offs, better landings. I only flew twice because I had to leave for hunting. There was a cross wind at 7 mph. Take offs were a lot better, landings were a lot better. Only had to redo the approach once both flights. I did go off the run way but that was because it was a weird day. You almost had to push down because the wind from our club house was creating an up draft over the run way or something. It was weird. But all is well, hope to get more practice in later this week!

Thanks! It's nice being able to fly by my self without having to bother some one to help me land and take off. Yeah it's pretty cool. I fly at the Lincoln Sky Knights club. Right by waverly. Lincoln has changed so much though in the past few years. They changed O-Street, 84th street now is pretty busy from comercial and residential all the way up there. There's residential housing all over now. It's kind of rediculous. But yeah LSK isn't too far from lincoln. About 10-15 min out side town.
