What is the effect of wing incidence?
Is there a "normal" range for different types of planes eg: trainers, sport, pattern, scale... ?
What happens when incidence is changed positive and negative.
Thanks, Jay

Hi, I found this good FAQ on many aspects of the airplane. It covers wing incidence near the start:

Andy,
Thank you, that is indeed an excellent FAQ.
My question now would be; what is the effect of changing wing incidence relative to flight characteristics?
Anybody?

Hope I posted this thread properly, but did you see Megowcoupe's comments in this. Might be helpful.:)

Be aware that some airfoils such as the clark y and others hava a positive pitch built in. The clark y is +2 degrees. When I first built my Barnstormer I added 2.5 up incidence than later realized that the eppler 197 foil I used gave me 4 1/2 degrees of positive incidence. The plane flew fine but wanted to constantly climb at full power. Trims of the elevator requred a good deal of down.
