Is there such thing as waterproof RC servo motor?

Hi

I will build a robotic application in which I'm planning to use RC
servo motors. The robot will be controlled by two RC transmitters and
it need to work in a wet environment.

I can seal, (make waterproof) the receiver electronics, power units
etc. But I don't know how to make RC servo motors a waterproof.


Is there such thing as waterproof RC servo motor?
Any suggession?

Splashproof, sure. Just seal all the case edges/holes with silicon
sealer, then put a rubber gasket where the servo arm is attached to
the spline. You might need to grease it up to keep it running freely.

Immersion-proof? Difficult. You're always going to have a weak spot
where the servo axle exits the box. I doubt it could be made entirely
waterproof. You could try encasing the entire servo (except for the
wires and the control rod/arm) in a rubber balloon and seal it up real
good. The boat guys do this with their radio equipment, but the
ultimate goal is to keep the inside of the boat dry.
