Are there any legal requirements for flying rc jets?
I have heard about ama guidelines and such...
Are those for just jet contests?
Is there any actual regulation in the US?
Thanks :)

Actually, there are no legal requirements to fly turbine powered models, except for certain requirements to fly at an AMA field or event and be covered by the AMA insurance. You can fly on your property, airports, etc as much as you want. However, common sense would tell you that being covered by insurance is a very good thing. To the law flying a turbine powered model is no different than a rubber powered one. Bob
