How to remove landing gear wire from Hangar 9 retract

I want to replace the landing gear wire from a Hangar 9 P51 retract unit, mounted in the wing, and replace it with a Robart strut.

How do I remove the wire from the retract unit?

Remove the retract from the wing, and you will see a brass bushing sticking out the side that the wire fits into. There is a hole in the middle of the brass part, and there is a set screw in the hole. Loosen the set screw and the wire will come out.
