Hello-

I have a JR PIC96 cable that is busted. I tried to run the sim the other day and no response. Long story short - opened the DB9 connector and there are three leads, a red lead, white lead, and a ground. The ground is soldered to the IC board, the red & white came loose.

My problem is - I have no clue where to solder these two leads back to.

If anyone has one of these cables. Could you open the DB9 connector and simply take a close up picture of both sides - especially the side the leads are connected to.

Appreciate your time,
john-

I was unable to get a photo detailed enough to see what was going on, so I did a little mspaint doodle instead. Pretty simple really; the white wire is wrapped with the shield cable (ground) and soldered to the same point. The red wire is soldered in the other opening right next to it.

Thank you for the almost real-life 3D looking photo ! <GRIN>

No really - appreciate it - just want to make sure though.... There are two sides to the board. One with a capacitor on it - the other side with an IC - you "photo" is looking down on the IC side, yes?

Thanks again-

Umm... well I'm not sure. It's back together again. If your shield (ground) wire is still soldered, the white goes where that goes. The red goes in the other connection point. If this doesn't help, I can open it again. (<grumble>, darn camera!)
