I'm completely new to helis although not to r/c. I was wondering which heli people would suggest, either the modelsport hornet or the lite machines 110. I attend NC State U so the electric is enticing as it is not messy and can be charged easily. The LMH 110 is good because of its durability. Regardless, I plan to take plenty of time to learn how to fly. Both have no collective on the main rotors, but the hornet can easily be upgraded to include this. I need all the advice I can get on this because I have little money to get one and find out that it won't suit my needs ("needs", not "wants":D ).

I haven't had the Hornet, but I've had both the 110 and now the Corona (the electric version of the 110) and I can tell you that they are great helis, they fly well, and most of all they are durable, so you'll save a lot of money. They aren't upgradeable to CP, at least not without a major custom project, but when you get comfortable with the LMH, then you can upgrade to a larger gas heli, and not have to worry as much about crashing than if you had started with a larger heli.
