I'm thinking about purchasing the Hitec Eclipse with the spectra module. It seems that the mailorder cost of $220 is pretty reasonable for this radio that should handle our gas, park flyers and eventually sailplanes. Am I missing something or is this really the best deal out there? Are there important features that this radio is missing that other radios have?

If you already have all the onboard gear then that is a good deal; the only things I saw missing were throttle expo and flap-elevator mix, both of which you can live without. If you need onboard gear you may want to consider the Futaba 6XAs which includes onboard gear for 260 or so.

Assuming we are talking about the same thing, you can do flap-elevator mixing with an Eclipse. I do it. Oh, you know though, I do flaperon-elevator mixing. So, maybe we are talking about different things. But, if not, it can be done with an Eclipse.

If you can do flaperon-elev mixing you should be able to do flap-elev mixing. All I saw on the tech sheet was elev-flap mixing. In any case you can always do a master-slave mix for flap-elevators.

Sorry, I was thinking elevator-flap(eron) mixing.
But, yeah, I would think one could do a master-slave thing, as well.

I'll be quiet, now. :)
