I purchased a few solar lights for around the pool a few weeks ago and one was a bit dodgey, so i pulled it apart and found the problem. It got me thinking about charging the flight pack while thermalling. I know the panel on this light was about 30mmx30mm and took all day to charge a single AA.
Has anyone had a go and been able to extend there flight pack flight time by any significant length?
Also interested from an LSF point as well.

it definitely could work if you have the voltage off the panel correct. I cant imagine it would help you much, the weight of the panel may be more of a downside than anything else. However it is definitely pretty cool. Not something you see, a good discussion. Take the pannel in the sun and see how many amps it puts out, then figure what that will add to your flights. Might be more than you expect.
