Try building a wooden R/C sailboat.

Two blogs focus on scratch building wooden model sailboats. Members of
the AMYA Star45 Class have been generous in contributing construction
information. John Fisher has provided outstanding step by step
pictures. John has also made CAD drawings available to all so that
model builders can obtain laser cut frames along with a building board
jig.

Model builders contributed photographs, articles. Postings don't
thread in any particular order. The suggestion was made to write a blog
or a article that could be used as a builders guide.

Now a builders guide is in progress:

Model Sail Boat Building, Making A Wooden Star45 R/C Sailing Model
http://woodstar45.blogspot.com/
Building a sailing model made simple.

Enjoy the pleasure of wooden boat building. Based on the International
Star Boat this semi-scale Star45 can be scratch built by novice or
seasoned skipper. Easily radio controlled and large enough to see out
on the water this is a model built by hobbyists for over thirty years,
It is a classic model. Plans are available from the AMYA, Downloadable
drawing make laser cut bulkheads available.

Modelers around the world have discovered these blogs and are now
building wooden RC sailing models.

Does the plans show how to install a small electric aux. engine. I have
seen a mild wind goes clam. I do not want to fly cast or row a boat for
retrieval of a boat dead in the water.

Thanks,

Lamar
