Hello, Im putting together a wood kit and Im looking for a good way to route the antenna. I need to know where i can find a waterproof antenna or a good scratch build plan would work. I have put together a couple of boats and i never have found a good way of mounting the antenna. Any help would be great, Thanks

Get a Spektrum DX6 radio and you won't have to worry about the antenna. ;)

ehskds,
An antenna ought to be as high as you can mount it. Just how high that is also depends on how much 'ugly' you are willing to put up with on your boat. An antenna doesn't really have to be water proofed, as long as it doesn't 'short' to some other part of the receiver ground (the '-' side of the battery). The metal of the antenna might corrode, but other than preventing that, water proofing just isn't necessary. How to mount it? Just depends on the boat.

Buy some Dubro #511 Antenna Tubes, they're about 3 feet long. You can route the tube through the bulkheads during the initial assembly, and later run the antenna wire through the tube. Install the tube just below the main deck if possible. Another alternative is the Dean's Antenna (http://www.wsdeans.com/products/antenna/index.html) or the E-Cubed Black Kat (http://www.ecubedrc.com/antennas.htm) antenna.
