just after buying the Yamato, I was handed, yes thats right handed a part built Robbe schnellboot, which is painted up on the box as an east german boat.

this is how she is right now.

Already installed are the motors, 3x 380 motors and a hitec esc, however that is gonna change as I intend on altering her powertrain setup. Though the motors are going to stay, I intend on having her done with 3 esc's, one driving the centre motor, and one for each of the outboatd screws. however that will be done once its been built and ran a couple of times.

East German?
That's odd, considering the S-100 type boats were run during WW II, when there was no East German navy.., yet.

the flag on the box has the eagle motif on it on the black orange red tricolor, (the east german flag), the reason being meerly political i think as it is illegal to display the swastika in germany, even on an model to get period authenticity

however who is to say that the boat is modelled as was post may 8 1945, and the boat was a late ww2 vessel. either way, when I finish it, its going in an arctic scheme to have her in the norwegian theatre.

Nope, I am afraid there is no cure- only support groups... (like this one!) ;)

Looks like it will be a great project! Looking forward to watching it come together! :)

I've yet to see the Robbe s-boat in the flesh, so to speak, and am looking forward to following what Ghost does with it.

It appears that we all suffer from the same malady, and as Aerominded said, It'll be group therapy---.

Ghost,

There is plenty of information on the S-boats on the net, both written and photographic. You should not suffer from a dearth of sources.

I built one from a kit in the early 1980's, when there wasn't much info on these boats available, and I don't think I did too bad a job of it, considering I had to do a lot of kitbashing to make things right.

It was sold to a guy in Chicago in 1997, and I had a chance to see it last autumn, and
took some pictures, which I should've done before letting it go.

Okay, let's see if I can post a few---.

These were taken under less than ideal conditions. A few parts are missing or damaged in these pix, this occurring over the intervening years.

looking good :) Der Kapitan

Tonights Progress: cut out the covers for the hatch over the radio gear, cut out the deck plate for the same area.

eventually this area is going to require filling with plastic filler as the deck plate is not smooth

Aww, cut it out, Tom, I've seen pix of your work, you be worthy---.

While I'm at it, you did a thing on putting a cobalt motor into a Reef Racer. Did you have to replace the shaft and universal to do that?

No, I used the rubber tube universal and stock shaft.
