Has the FS One Been released yet? Although it says mid-october, is it possible that it was released? I recieved this suspicion when I vistited their website...I went under the FAQ section and saw several new categories...and a few with questions like "Why is the simulator 'jerky' or my Frame rate low?" So I assume that someone has played the final version... correct me if I am wrong. Thank You ^.^

Alot of FAQ's are already added that they know they will receive. It's a for sure thing that someone with less then needed gfx power will be running the sim.... So it's basically having it there ahead of time so they wont have to put it up later. I dont think it's out yet.... but i could be wrong...

My LHS just got in a complete stand that is for the FS One. It has the screen and cpu compartment. Shortly I guess I will be able to try it. When I try I will post my input.
I have Real Flight G3 with expansion packs one and Two. That Sim has been great in helping doing aerobatics. I crash and reset until it is refleive. The Physics close so the thumbs get the right moves, plus keeps the rust out in the cold winter.

The FS One will cost...
• $179.99 for the version without the TacCon Controller. (If you plan to use your own radio)
• $209.99 for the version with the TacCon controller. (The one I am getting, either in mode 1 or mode 2. Mode 2 has the throttle and yaw on the left and the cyclic on the right which is default in America)

I have G3 also but after finding some of the well made models in FMS.... i just got to where i don't even use G3. If the person knows what they are doing when they create the FMS plane..... then it's hard to beat that realism feel with G3. I like the trainer planes alittle better on G3, but aerobatics i use my handful of well made FMS planes.

Got my copy today at LHS.
But so far cannot figure out which Tx to select for Spektrum DX-6 in order to calibrate it.
And also am confused why I have to select not only a Tx but also a plane combination. Know it will all make perfect sense tomorrow, but I'd like to be able to use it tonight after taking about an hour to load all 4 CDs.
Looked thru their forums, but found nothing on DX6 Tx. Hopefully they will get back to me on this.
Edit - Brute-forced my way thru the Tx selection and calibration using a JR 4 channel. Could not get everything to calibrate, but just Nexted thru those instances.
Got a plane selected, but the controls were weird, and it could not be flown.
Realized I had the D-6 TX model selected for an elevon plane, and I was "flying" the Ascent motor glider with conventional tail. Had to change the model selection in my TX to a conventional tail plane to get FSOne to fly right.
Then it Works! I love it!
Well, actually the crashes are too realistic. The FSOne plane breaks up into pieces exactly the way it does in real life - end edit

I don't think travis can wait - he has posted in three FSOne threads in like an hour. LOL. Poor guy, it'll get there - just don't have a heart attack when the postman delivers it to you

So far so good. Graphics are good. Physics are good. I went from G2 to this so I really cant give a good compare between the next gen sims with this one.
I havent played around with it too much but plan too this weekend. The demos with stick movements by QQ and MM are really cool to watch.

I picked up FS One in Oct. 12 from a local hobby shop. Pretty happy with it. Runs well* on my system - XP SP2, Athlon 64 3500+, MSI K8N (nForce 3 250?), 2 GByte RAM, EGA GeForce 6800 256 MB, Audigy 2 ZS.
Graphics and view selection are great. The box are should show a shot with all the situation awareness "widgets" enabled. Physics in the air and on the ground are convincing to me. Comes with a set of wind-files - steady, turbulent, boundry layer, DS,... Since spectrum of real RC planes and helos (I don't fly helos) plus two sets of scaled-down RC planes.
*Except I'm having minor sound problems. I used dxdiag, as suggested, to turn-off sound acceleration. Loading-music and sound effects will cut in and out when played together. My Audigy 2 ZS runs on drivers 5.12.2.444. I turned off FS One music.
Does anyone know how I can map the TracCon functions to a Saitek P990 Dual Analog gamepad? I trying to set things up so that I can try glider tug and tow splitscreen with friends.
Can I use the TracCan a buddy box? Looks like all I need is a PS2 jack and a JR male TX buddy connector. I have a Spectrum DX6.
In the real world I fly/crash a Hobbico Superstar EP w/ ailerons in Corpus Christi, TX, and I'm building a Phase 3 Fantom reenforce with 3/4 oz glass and Minwax Polycrilic.
