Hi
I'm looking for place apart from EBAY where we can buy cable interfaces between radios and PC.
I have found this page www.rc-devices.com where they sell USB interfaces, that are compatible with FMS. Does anyone knows more free simulators apart from FMS. Or for free simulator the best choice is FMS.

Its a bit hard to advise when you don't state where in the world you live !
Milehigh Wings in the US are probably your best bet if you live that side of the pond. RC-Electronics in the UK if you are this side of the pond.
Look for "windows joystick emulation" interfaces which will allow your transmitter to be used as a joystick with any sim / application that supports a normal Windows Joystick.
Its not free, but for $30 US Clearview will be your best option to get a decent sim on a budget

Hi
I'm from Spain(Europe) I have been looking the two sellers to told me and coparing prices. Milehigh Wings is a little more cheaper than www.rc-devices.com but RC-Electronics is more expensive. I have send and email to the web that I found, that it is also locate at Spain, and the y told me that this cables comes with seven analog channel and 6 switch buttoms, and that they are developping a new version of the cable that could work on PCM mode so in this mode they could work with all the channel, because PPM mode only give 8 channels.

I got the Hitec USB adapter from Helihobby in California for $31.49 US deliverred.
Orderred it online on Wednesday and had it in my hands on Saturday in Indiana.
Here's their web page - http://helihobby.com/html/fms_interfaces.html
The part number to work with my Futaba FM (comes with an adapter from the mini plug to the 6 pin trainer plug) was HRC58318 ($25.99 + $5.50 shipping)
I've been using it with my Futaba Conquest FM 4 channel, Remove the Crystal from the radio, plug the interface into the trainer plug, plug the USB into the computer, turn on the radio (with the crystal out there is no RF generated) and go to control panel and setup the joystick and you should be in business.
I've used it with winXP and win2000

Hi
The page http://helihobby.com/ offers the cable at the price you say only for 4 channels. The cable similar to www.rc-devices.com cost between 50-60 dollars depends on the conector. For more than 4 channels the more cheaps cable where the Milehigh Wings and the www.rc-devices.com

FMS only uses 4 channels so paying extra for more is a waste of money ;).

personally i wouldnt waste your money. on stuff like that. All the sims that work with these cables are next to useless and sims like phoenix are so cheap now, 80ukp or 132euros

Hi
Not every body can pay the prices of a comercial simulator. Of couse the best simulator is to go with somebody that already knows to fly with a trainer cable ;)

a phoenix is probably the most valuable tool i have. It keeps your hand in when the weather is bad. you get a lot of stick time very easily.
something a buddy lead wont do. Buddy leads are great but you just dont get the stick time.
