Hi,

It might be just me, but I'm wondering why those rotor blades for RC helis are wider on near the root than on the tip. Tail rotors seems to follow the same characteristics. :confused:

Less rotating mass, and aerodynamically the outer part of the blade is moving faster, so it can generate lift with less area.

There's probably a lot of ideas on how blades should be designed...
You'd be better off asking on a helicopter forum.
