View Full Version : Help! A30 Prop Adapters; How do you get them off?

I have three A30's of various sizes and on two of them now (on the third I use the rear mount), once I've mounted a prop with the supplied prop adapter, I can't get the adapter off again (after removing the prop).

Usually with collet adapters, once you loosen it, the whole thing comes off the shaft. With these though, it's like they are fused to the shaft. I can't get them off.

Anybody have any ideas on how to get the adapters off?

Thanks,

I had the same problem, I wish I had a simple solution ; I eventually got it off with elbow grease the adapter is soft alluminium so it got some pot marks from the effort but I was able to reuse it. After that experience it makes me want to use the non-collet adapter from now on. I am not worried about them coming off in the air that's for sure.

Hi,

Your local hobby shop should have a " fly wheel puller" that is used to remove the flywheels from 1/8 scale nitro cars. I have found this works well. Take your motor along and make sure that the "arms" on the puller will grip that size prop adaptor.

Hope this helps.
