Hello All
Does anyone have any experience with the Dragonfly from Soaring USA?

This is the third version called "Strong", the successor of the first and "Pro" version.
Some german text found here:

In short he says (building an elektro version)
* motor side trust was wrong
* one flap was twisted
* one elevator did not fit (gap 3-4mm)
* Some grinding needed to fit the joiner
* No manual for elektro version
The dealer answered this is not to be allowed and he could replace the box for a good one without these issues, this was the only time he got that kindof exeptional comment. Dealer would insist Valenta to look better after inspection.
So you might goto the store and check thouroughly for items before you buy. Valenta might have heavy tails production in the past, better check that also. If all is OK, you endup a very good plane according to previous flight reports to be found in RCgroups.

Erich flew his Dragonfly with us last summer. This is a very nice ship for the price. He was doing full pedal launches and getting great zooms to altitude. It thermals very well and the size helps visibility at while at the top. Landing was gentle with those flaps down. I thought it was a very good built-up full house sailplane.

I trashed my Mystery Ship today (completely, utterly and absolutely) so I need a new open model and the Dragonfly Strong looks like the ideal replacement. But. I am somewhat surprised by the quality issue as I have previously seen the Sharpwind, from the same manufacturer, which was a really great model. I wonder was the reviewer unlucky or was this typical of the Dragonfly?

The dealer Bichler said in german he must have had a "monday" model and this was the only one in his knowledge with issues so far.
