I have a friend who is trying to rebuild his 91 SX-H C Spec engine.
Well he can't figure out how to get the rear bearing out of it!

If you have any ideals please chime in!
He has already blew the threads out of the cooling fan! He didn't know that it was threaded on! Hahahaha!

He learned!

Thanks ahead of time!

Its pretty easy, you just need to be gentle or you will damage something inportant.

take the carb out, ensuring you dont loose the clamp and any washers that are in there.

take the head off, and backplate.

now, put your finger up the inside and push the piston liner out. If it doesnt come out with a push of the finger then put the engine in the oven to heat it up to around 100degs C. The casing will expand more than the liner as its made of Ally. Then use something soft and heat resistant to push the liner out.

slide the piston off the crank, note orientation of the piston. Crank will now drop out the back of the engine.

put the engine back in the oven, if you put it on its back gravity and the heat will probably be enough to get the bearing to drop out. If not a gently tap on a piece of wood should be enough to get it to drop out.

assembly is the reverse of removal, just be careful when putting the liner back in that the piston ring is aligned properly in its groove in the piston, there is a little pin to help this, be careful, dont use excessive force it should all slide in easily.

Thanks guy, He is going to try it!
The motor sat to long and the original owner of the 90 raptor SE didn't put after run in it. So he is rebuilding the engine! Thanks again.
