Is there somewhere other than F3x.com to buy launch equipment for F3J hand tow planes?
I have seen soaringstuff.com and f3x.com. I am looking for ideas on now to attach handles to towlines, and what the handles/straps are made of.
TIA

Hi CHip,
Many of us make or own stuff, or adapt something to what we need. I have several "winch" pulleys of which one is from F3X.com, and the other is adapted from mountain climbing gear which is a good size pulley that has outer casings that split apart to allow the line to be strung through. I had a welder make my anchor stakes and I made the safety cables on my own from wire rope. The handles I made using mountain climbing nylon rope I found at Sports Chalet. In fact, all of my rope and handle materials comes from Sports Chalet. The monofilament line is Stren brand line, 125 lb test or 150 lb test, purchased from on-liine deep water fishing stores. The line is soaked in a couple of gallons of water with a few drops of fabric sofetner in it for at least a month. This allows it to stretch and remain flexi instead of brittle. Stick all this into a bag and go flying! Bring a friend and make them tow the plane up!
