just curious do any of these CNC upgrades make any difference to a
novice flyer or are they a bit like a placebo effect in medicine make
little difference apart from in your mind
as I keep having the swash plate pull apart and wondered if its worth
spending £30 on a CNC one

I guess there are a few answers.
Where the plastic item is perfectly servicable then I would say that a
novice user would see little benefit. Example (metal v plastic servo arms)
For good plastic moving parts, there is little difference whilst new but the
plastic item will wear out quicker. Any moving item (metal or plastic) will
result in sloppy controls as they wear which will be noticeable. Value is
down to how long the plastic lasts versus the metal. Example (mixing arms
or tail gears)
The last category is where the plastic item is not up to the job. Checking
out the forums will give you an idea which these are. The T-Rex plastic
swash is well known to fall apart - you don't want a dodgy swash so usual
advice is to replace with a metal one.
So my advice would be to replace the swash but forget about the other bling
for now.
Cheers,
Nigel

I agree. I know of several people who have had their swash come apart
on them, even after doing the "pull it apart and reglue it" bit. What
you want is the metal swash that comes with the 450SE V2. If it's got
a serial number on the rear side of the swash (as it's installed) it's
the "fixed" one and you can see how Align rolled the edge of the metal
over the bearing to keep it together.
As you break/bend the plastic parts, replace 'em with the metal ones
if you want.
OR
Sell the one you've got and buy the SE and get all the upgrades at
once. :)
