Sunday 27th August, a rather sweet catamaran turned up :) looks like an off shore race boat, powered bt twin 540s onto one screw. quite smart boat :)

Well my boats where the odd ones out till this weekend. I was sailing with the local club before I decided to join. They seem all like good guys so now I am in.

I wouldn't doubt it has a Hughey double motor gearbox ( torque type like a 212 ratio ) swinging a 637 cause the speed is or looks slow on 12 cells. Prop bigger than that would create alot of heat and Triton is no small unit.

I agree, it's noisy and slow for it's size, I own one.
The steering outdrive came apart after about ten runs (I replaced the noisy gears after the first few runs with a 700, direct drive on 12 cells).

Currently it's shelved, waiting for a rebuild with a flexshaft, sharpening of the edges (all steps and transom) and seperate rudder.

It's a looker on the water, but boy, it's slow in stock form...
