I own a miss vegas and was wondering if there were any threads on rcgroups for it. I have mine going good and am looking for tips or others with the boat

I run 30% trinity race blend blended to 18% caster oil.
On the boat now is a y535 balenced and polished prop.
carbon fiber beams for a stiffer body.
Custom bby turn fin.
Sanded bottom hull with 600 grit and sharpend the edges.
port and polished header and engine shim removed.
prop rides at 5/16 from center to the hull at netrual.
Ported cooling head for better cooling.
The cowling is cut open for more air flow.

It does 40 mph right now with only 8 tanks of 20% through it. I have to let the engine break in more with the 30%. She is a beuty on the water, the best bang for my buck. I bought the boat off of my father who hit a ski boat at 35mph with it. I ca'ed it back together and am having a blast with it. :)

my proven tips so far is get rid of that wingy thing on the back! get high quality 50-60% nitro like o'donnels and you dont need all that after market stuff just yet ! my VEGAS is a Screamer! GO VERY FAST AND STAY DRY IS WHAT I LIKE !

I have had the miss vegas with an octura 2 blade prop. Last summer I put the octura 3 blade on and I can not get the set up right. Does anyone have any pointers

Get the latest issue of Radio Control Boat Modeler (http://www.rcboatmodeler.com/ME2/Default.asp) magazine. Jerry Dunlap, who designed the MISS VEGAS, has some tips for tuning the hull and engine for better performance.

There is a new tuned pipe out now for the Vegas that has done quite well so far from Cooper Pipes. It's much quieter and also makes for more power but it isn't cheap.

Hey would putting a .32 dynamite engine in the miss vegas instead of the .18 os engine work?

Not really. You'd find more power in the OS .18 plus the installation would be a lot easier. It won't fit under the cowling either without hacking it up.

what about the OS 46 VX-M Marine?

Somebody please tell me that this guy is pulling our chain!
OK, here's the skinny and I'm only going to type this once so please pay attention. This boat is barely a Sport 20 so trying to shoehorn anything bigger in it is a waste of time and money. Upgrading to anything over a .21 engine will require a lot more work and just putting a .21 in it requires some reworking.

I'd read this first before ordering anything from him: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=781461&highlight=Twisted+Liquid
