I was just wondering if anyone has mounted these retracts? If so, what have you used to charge the air cylinder and what would make a good first warbird to try these in?
Thanks,

I am testing the retracts on the bench and they work OK. I believe they are the Wattage retracts with an air cylinder. In my opinion they are adequate for a very light plane unless you land better than I. Larry E SouthEast Model Products makes a better retract.

thinking about using the retracts for the new gws38 and also maybe retrofitting my gws a-10 with them...i use the below $10.00 air compressor from wal-mart to charge an air system in another model...the compressor is rated to 250 psi...

Larry,
I've been tinkering around with mine, too. I decided to use Gasparin CO2 plumbing instead of the fill valve and plastic tank supplied with the kit. The CO2 equipment is (for me) easier to charge and less likely to leak. I do have to be very quick with the CO2 charger, though, since I think the 800PSI of a full charge might be a bit much!!! I haven't decided what I'll put this gear in yet, though I'm leaning toward a FSK Zero or FW190.

What's the rated airframe weight?

rdeis,
According to the site, they can handle a bird of 1000g. Judging from the rather plyable wire, though, I think that 600-700g might be more appropriate. Here's the link: http://www.rc-warbirds.com/product_info.php/products_id/330
