in the past i remember that there was an unlimited racingclass that allowed F1 engines on q500 planes

has anyone done this lately

also what spees would i be looking at

would this be faster than a q40 or close to it ?

also i see 2 types of jett engines for f1 and f3d/fai

does this depend on the amount of nitro used on the engine

there is a defference of almost 100$ between the 2 engines, but they look the same

i would be happy to hear your views on this

I'm kinda new to pylon planes. I don't like to race I actually like to suicidally play combat with them. I have a Rossi .40 on a quickie and I'm getting roughly 130 - 140 mph. I am not sure how fast that is compared to actual pylon racing.

Some areas ran an "animal" race format and all sorts of combos were used.

A F1 engine on a Quickie is going to be no faster than a current Nelson or Jett Q500 motor on a quickie. The current Quickies are pushing mid 160's pretty normally.

Jett lists a F3D motor on their site, but I don't belive anyone is using it, or if he even will sell one.

If your doing this for fun, with no desire to compete, I would suggest the Sport Jett .50 great engine that will get you over 150 mph pretty easily on a quickie.

From experience the plane will go as fast if not faster then a Quarter 40. The problem becomes the wings burns into the saddle of the Fuse. But it scares me too much so it is sitting on the shelf.
