Does anybody have a source for airfoil ordinates? I'm especially interested in NACA stuff. I have AutoCad and Inventor so I don't need a drawing program, just the ordinates. The closest I've found is a 4 and 5 digit generator at www.pagendarm.de/trapp/index.html by Jens Trapp and Robert Zores. It works OK, but the ordinates will not print.

Xfoil has any NACA 4 digit foil. You save the foil to a file which has the CO-ordinates. If you want the camber ordinates only, the manual shows you how.

"I have AutoCad and Inventor so I don't need a drawing program, just the ordinates."

You need the ordinates and a better drawing program for airfoils! You need a program that smooths the lines between wide gaps between ordinates. The NACA ordinates have about 15 pairs. You need a program that genetrates hundreds of ordinates for one smooth airfoil.

Martin Hepperle's Java Foil can generate NACA coordinates

Tons of .dat files (and useful links) here:

With AutoCad a "curve fit polyline" using the 15 pairs will work fine. You do have to make sure the polyline starts and stops at the TE, not the LE.
This is no problem for the "Selig" file format which is set up that way.

Thanks guys, all good suggestions. I corrected the site name in my original post in case anybody who sees this is interested. It is the simplest thing I've seen for my purposes. It does seldom published airfoils like a NACA 5410 for example without having to downloading or purchase a complete airfoil program. :)
