Composite Technician work.??.

NOT sure if this is the place to post this...Composite Technician is there any work out there for guys who have work in Composites?? I am looking in to Freelance type work. I DO Not want to relocate right now ( just got threw with Moveing Agen).. been in the Feild for 7 years. all so A&P mechanic for 9 years. work as a Quality Assurance Inspector for airframes for UAV program Composite Manufacturing and Repair,Wet Layup, PrePreg, Tooling repair have looked around on the web dont see much out there around my location. i can send resume .. all so if there is anyways i can help anyone on this Form with A Project i will do my best to help you out.

F-111Nut, I don't think you've broken any forum rules - the main thing that irks me is when people don't even acknowledge there are rules. Obviously that wasn't your approach, it looks to me like your trying to be sensitive to the etiquette here.

Anyways, I can't say I'm hiring :rolleyes:, but I wish you the best of luck finding something. I went to A&P school myself, way back in the day. Move to Wichita, Kansas and I'm pretty sure you'd find a job there. ;) But I know, you don't want to relocate.

Thanks.. i have looked in to that befor.. i just dont want to move right now.. it seams every time i move to a place with a new job with in 6 months to a year they have a layoff or shut down..even the big players have been doing it,Boeing Grumman.and Airlines to..just seams there is no stability in Aviation anymore. i remmber when i dad work for Lockheed. he put in 30+ years with them..now you lucky if you can get 5 years with anyone it seams.. I love aircraft.. love working with them.. its hard to think about doing anything other then working on them..I got in to this when i was 22 years old just turn 34 this year and well still have not work anywhere more then 2 years.. I would go back in to working on Gen aircraft( light cessna and Beech) but insurance now adays it so high unless you got realy deep pokets it hard to do that.. anyways i am doing nothing but babbleing on.. but thanks for the info.. i may just look at some new way to Go with a career a new feild or something to get in to.. geting to old to keep jumping from place to place

Not sure where you are in Missippi, but Aurora Flight Sciences just opened a new manufacturing facility in Starkville, MS. You can get more info from their website www.aurora.aero

Also you could try Northrop Grumman's new Unmanned Systems Center in Moss Point, MS where they put together the Fire Scout UAV.

Thanks.. Aurora is the place the let us Go there in Starkville.. they dont have enuff work going on..I am not going to say what i realy think of them on this Form.. i was with them for over a year as a QA with a program They pissed over and lost.. they have alot of good ideas but Never see anything threw.. the few guys that are still there in Starkville just build Models.Other guys i know up in VA at the other shop are realy not happy with the way things are being done. the ones that i still talk to form time to time here in Mississippi are not happy with things they feel that they are just there being used so that Aurora can get Gov money from our state here.. I busted my Butt from them and put my hart and sole in that program and they just sead Oh Sorry..and my self and others where let go.. Sorry guys.. i blow my top about Aurora. was a realy good crew working there. just feel like i wasted time there just to be cut lose like that.. SOrry i just have bad feeling when it come to Aurora Fight Sic..

Just wanted to tell all the guys thanks for puting up with me and blowing my top on here..lol.. I have a few interviwes with some places here closer to me. its not going to be Composite work maybe just alittle repair work going to work with Good old AS350 or Astar Helis .. will be nice. the work week.. 7 on 7 off.. will give me time to get other things going.. if there is anyways i can help any person on this form just Pm me and will do my best to help..
