With the temperature below 100, which is cool here, I decided to get the sub wet. The boat is a VIIC. The snorkel is retacted in the pics. You also might notice the boat is sporting a front net cutter. They did away with them on later boats but I had to have it. This is the sub backing out.

This pic shows the boat with the ballast tank flooded. Now all I need to do is add just a touch of power. A command to the front planes will submerged the boat. Once Im at the depth I want, I bring the stick to center. A onboard auto leveler keeps the boat level from there.

Coming in at periscope depth. Now I just use a tank onboard filled with Super Duster air to displace and force the water out the ballast tank to surface.

Go back and do a search and look at my post from a few months back. I have alot of pics showing close ups of the detailing. Also other runs and some showing me trimming the sub out in a small pool. Its a 32nd Parallell hull custom with weld lines. The boat is approx 7ft long with a brass deck. Twin 12 v motors, autoleveler,Subsafe which blows the ballast tank in case of signal loss. It has a operational torpedo system which can fire 2 6 ich torps but I took it out. The boat also has a snorkel which was used on later U-boats which allowed the boat to run on diesal motors while submerged. It also can be moved up and down via the radio. I have pics of this on earlier post.

Hi Jimjam

Your U-Boat is fantastic!

I really like it! :)

Maybe you could make a warship and have a battle with someone else. How are the torpedoes powered?

great job!

The torpedoes are propelled using the same fluid/air that is used in the ballast tank. Its Super Duster that you use to blow off electronics only you hold the bottle upside down when filling so that only the liquid goes in. The system shown works but has too many weak points and is also heavy. Ive since scraped it and planning on using torpedoes that hold the fluid. A servo pulls a "plug" out its rear which causes the torpedo to go forward. This way allows for further runs and also reduces the overall weight.
