Hey guys,
I live in Raanana and I am teaching myself to fly an electric backyard flyer wherever I can find some space big enough. I have all the equipment to fly gas power but I need to find a club where I can get some experienced help. I demolished one plane trying to teach myself and it cost me plenty. I am looking for somewhere within about 15 - 20 k's of Raanana. I don't mind flying electric or glider or power. Just need to fly :) . I don't fly Saturdays so is there anywhere I could fly on Fidays?

We fly electric in Shfayim. This is the closest I know of. We are usually there after 16:00 every Friday. You are welcome to join in.

I don't know if they're still there, but there used to be a bunch of glow pilots at Rishpon on Friday afternoons.
Get on the TelAviv-Haifa motorway going north. Turn of at Rishpon. Follow that road east (there's a slighytly off-center crossing where the continuation is slightly to the left). Continue on that road. You will pass a train crossing (carefull there) About 1Km after the train crossing there are signs for a Banquet hall pointing left. Turn left (north) and continue on the dirt track (slowly). Pass the Banquet hall. You have trees on either side of the dirt track. At the end of the trees the road makes a dangerous dip, after which there's a dirt track running east/west, which is the runway. You may want to park before the dip.
To get to the electric flyers, again go north on the TelAviv-Haifa motorway. Turn of at Ga'ash/Shfayim. When exiting from the motorway, there's a little roundabout. Go 3/4 round (turn left), through the tunnel. Again a roundabout. Go 1/4 round (turn right). Follow that road north, paralel with the motorway. You will pass another roundabout (go 1/2 round - straight) and pass the Shfayim shops at your left. At the next roundabout, just before the petrol station, go 3/4 round (left). Continue west. Yet another roundabout. Go 1/2 round (straight). After about 20 meters the road turns into a sandy dirt track. Another 200 meters there's another dirt track on your left going south. Turn into here. Another 200 meters and you've arrived. Look out for low flying models!

Perfect explanation, Rene!
We haven't seen you for quite a while.
Woody, please come and see us. The place is very nice with a lot of open fields with both grass and dirt roads.

I've been to the Bat Yam slope a lot, and found a field near Rishon with killer thermals in the morning.

Sorry Woody, I did not check for your message. My fault.
If you come to Shfayim next week, ask for me, Shaul. Ido, Oded, Oshik and many others are excellent people too.
