Just an update on iter's Slow-G kit I purchased a while ago. I know you wanted some feed back, especially for the first one sold to Australia.

Flew it a couple of times outdoor and once I got the CG right had a couple of flys indoor. Great flyer and real head turner. Did bent it a couple of times (as you can see in the pic from the link below) but all incidents were RX glitch issues.

Here's a link to an article from one of our leading model shops. http://www.modelflight.com.au/indoor_flight.htm

Definate regular flying machine from now on.

Thanks iter for a great kit.

Great to hear of your success Don! I was wondering if the kit ever made it to you :=)

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is tremendously satisfying to read about people's successes with Slow-G.

From the photo it looks like you have a wood fuselage, not the stock aluminum. Does it work better for you? Also, did you end up with a CG that was different that what the manual recommends? It would bre great if you could post some videos, especially indoor videos.

Hi Ari,

The fuse is stock wood from the Pico kit. Will convert to carbon or ally soon.

The CG recomended was setup but I tend to set my own to suit flying speed/conditions/experience etc. Not saying yours is wrong but I do it with all my models. Not sure were exactly it is at the moment but flys well in any case.

Ah! I didn't realize you used a pico fuse. It's nice to see people build Slow-Gs light. I built my original prototype on a pico, but a lot of people wanted to use heavy gear and batteries, and SS is much more amenable to that. What motor are you using? I flew mine with an IPS-A and 10x4.7. My experience was similar in that I found the pico wood fuselage to be quite brittle - either as an autogyro or as an airplane. Most often it would break at the gearbox attachment point.

I'm looking forward to photos of your carbon fuselage. It would be good if you could mark the CG on a photo when you post, for our reference.
