Hi all,

If i change the LM317 to an LM350, will I get more amps from this charger ? what other stuff would i have to change ?

thanks,

sajeev

The 1 ohm current sensing resistor for a start...depends which circuit you are using.....

The LM350 is rated for 3 amps, therefore the current limiting resistor needs sizing accordingly.

The resistor ca be calculated from the Vbe drop across the transistor, typically 0.6v. At 3 amps then the resistor needs to be Vbe/3 or 0.2ohms.

The resistor can be made up by paralleling values to give the value needed..

so if i want 2 amps out, then i need a 0.3 ohms resistor ?

and all other components remain same ?
