At last maidened the Ultra stik 40 with TP 5s3pv 6000 mah.

prop 14 x 7 APCe 46 amps 846 watts. Flew quite well but was missing something. it was marginal for loop and vetical. Admittedly ambient temp was 38 degC about 100degF. The CC 60 was a little hot batteries fine. 14 x 8 I don't have 14 x 10 I thought might overamp. The other suggestion given to me was 15 x 6.

I tried the following fixes.
spaced the motor forward1/4" and opened a bigger hole in the firewall. Opened a bigger hole in the bottom of the nose. Moved the rx higher so the battery could slide back an inch. moved the ESC frward and velcro to the nose hatch, trimmed the shrink wrap so the capacitors are in the air intake.

Today ambient temp 30degC or 84degF. Lots of power. large loops unlimited vertical. Will just hover. temp gun measured battery 104 & ESC 110.

So why the difference. The air is clearly cooler and therefore denser, but the difference was too radical. New battery burning in? ESC could have been too hot? and hitting some amp limiting in the air. Wattmeter reafings were taken after maiden and after a recharge. BUT today on the 3rd flight I only charged to 10 minutes on the third cycle with my Astro 109. ie not fully charged.
