August 6th was the annual Navy Day foir the Potteries MBC, here are some pics.
the event is the highlight of the PMBC calendar, and sadly the camer I have goes out of focus after about 8 feet, so there are only a couple of pics. I did not have much time to take pics as my job was to sail the merchant vessel around as competitors had to navigate past the Merchant vessel on the correct side.
enjoy :)

Looks like a fun event.
I like the harbor pier and buildings.

thanks umi, it is a good event, always popular among the clubs. The old dock and buildings were destroyed in a garage fire :( I was surprised to see that second yamato! Mine was on display but not on the competition. it may well be next year when she is re-powered :)

for PMBC yes, though as the regatta is a competition, with models judged on how they look, how they were sailed, working features etc, it, for the competiors is a serious event! :D when My mighty Y is restored to former glory, which wont take a lot, she will be entered next year

Great to see those kinds of events going on on the other side of the big pond. Need more events like it here if only there was enough intrest to do so! :o Too bad you were having fun creating traffic to get more photos. :D
We did for a very short time have an all military regatta called the Admirals Cup over in Bellevue, WA for a couple of years. The first year we had a really good grouping of ships/boats with about 50 boats. Unfortunetly, the guys who organized it either moved away or lost intrest as they did all the work.  May be in the future we will restart it again. ;)

later on this year, we have the moonlight regatta, not a points scoring event, but a closure to the sailing season, all boats lit ip with navigation lights.
