I just burned up my stock esc in my hammer ep. So I threw in a venom 15turn motor and a duratrax streak esc to see how it would do and it glitches like mad. So, How do I fix this, and what would be a good motor/esc set up for it? reasonable price wise, I don't have much money. Or would it be better to buy the stock esc and leave the stock motor in it?

Did you install the three capacitors on the motor?

FYI, a boat will kill a combo that works in a car. It is analagous to taking your car, holding the rear wheels on the ground, and then giving it full throttle. The load in a boat is much greater than in a car, and it doesn't get less when the boat is moving. Unlike a car where the rolling resistance gets less.

Why did your stock ESC burn up? DId you over-volt it? More batteries than it is specified to take? Did you change motors on the stock ESC? Did you change props? Many factors to consider in a boat.

Unfortunately, most boat equipment costs more than car equipment. First thing though, I would send the ESC back to Hobby Services and see if they will help you out.

I took of the heat shrink to see if a wire had come un-done so it looks modifighed, I doubt they will re-place it. I would like to know what a good set up would be. I think I over heated it when I ran too many 3300's through it continously.

If it clitches while sitting still then the BEC signal is not very clean. This is a problem with the ESC and would happen in a car or boat. If it glitches while in motion then you could have a few things going on. First is everything secured in the hull? Is your prop shaft greased, are your batteries mounted or laying free. All these things cause friction and in that will cause radio noise that causes glitches. Tape the ESC Reciever and batteries down if they are not already. Make sure the prop shaft has enough grease to reduce metal to metal friction. Another cause is your antenna running close to the ESC or the motor. The ESC works by pulsing your engine on and off really fast. This on and off is actually a digital frequency that can interfere with your reciever causing noise which causes glitches. Even with capacitors on the motor the antenna wire should not be near it if possible. The last and usually the most common cause is no capacitors on your motor. The motor runs with a pulsed signal from the ESC this on and off causes some slight feedback in the motor which creates noise in the reciever. The capacitors are there to direct that stray voltage that would become radio interference to the motors ground ( - side of the motor) thus eliminating the radio noise. If the motor has the built into the head caps solder new ones on the motor anyway the built in ones dont work after they get water in them or dirty. Hope this helps solve your problems.

Very good information there, Massey. Thanks.
