Below is a list of F3P designs (in no particular order) with links to the threads/posts or non RC-Groups sites where you'll find the plans. Thanks to everyone who's already contributed. Post any plans or other useful links you know of and I'll copy them into this post so they can be easily found.
Please don't post plans if the original designer doesn't want them distributed.

Here is the Calypso in PDF format. One sheet 40" x 48". The DXF was in mm, the PDF is in Imperial.
Span worked out to 33.6"/854 mm. Is this correct?
I ask because all of the slots are 3.3 mm, not 3mm so it might be 10% oversize.
Doing a tiled PDF is possible, but a bit of a pain!
I hope the single sheet will do :)

I've done a revised version of the overlay drawing Justshootme provided earlier. I've re-drawn the outlines of the Clik and Manta just to tidy them up a little. They're still based on Justshootme's outlines.
All 3 planes are scaled so that they have equal wing area. "Wing area" includes the area outlined by extending the LE and TE to the centreline as is standard practice.
The approximately calculated neutral points were used to align the planes.
The most obvious differences are:
Clik has a much larger and shorter coupled tailplane than the other two
Index has a much longer nose and the side area is distributed further forward
Clik and Manta wing planforms are similar with the Index being higher aspect ratio and more swept
Clik has a far larger rudder than the Manta with the Index somewhere in between
Clik has the largest fuselage side area and the Manta the smallest
Index has less fuselage area below the centreline than the other two
I've also attached the same drawing but replacing the Index with the Index 2.
It seems the changes I made when modifying the original Index design has brought it closer to the proportions of the other two designs.
Aidan
P.S.
Thanks for the drawing Pat!

Hi Aidan, Just a little note reguarding the Index. I used your plans and built one with fan fold foam. The wings and fuse I used two pieces sandwiched togather to make it a little thicker and make it stronger. I used a brushless 400 with 800mah 3 cell lipos. The plane came out at 13oz. with the electronics less battery. I wanted a plane I could fly outside and this fit the bill. Maidened today, and it flew straight out hands off in a slight climb. only trim was a tad of down elevator. Hovers perfect and handles the wind great. Nice plans, Thank you Gary Fuller

It's started turning colder and the days are getting very noticably shorter here in Ireland. I imagine most of us in the northern hemisphere will be starting into the indoor flying season shortly.
I've neglected this thread a little over the last few months. It's quite possible there are a few new plans floating around that I haven't captured here so if you're aware of any let me know and I'll add them.
Also feel free to comment on any of the plans that you've tried. I'm interested to learn whether many people are building from these plans and what they think of them. I know the Bling Bling and Yak for example are popular from reading their threads. There's less feedback on most of the other designs.
It might also be interesting to use this forum to suggest or report on modifications to designs.
There are more F3P designs available commercially now than there were last year but hopefully this won't have a negative effect on our creativity.
So get if you're designing and/or building please post your plans, pictures and experiences here!
Have a great season!

Aiden - There are pictures and video on the site:
http://pierrickfly.free.fr/avion/Morback4D/
JustShootMe - you had better luck than I did. What software did you use to read the DXF? I could sort of get it into Corel Draw, but not into my CAD or CAM packages. I could get it from Corel into Autocad, but the size was messed up and the text in the title block was gone so I did not know what to scale it up to.
There is another F3P plane on the same site, a biplane called the Silence.
http://pierrickfly.free.fr/avion/Silence%20F3P/
I had even less luck with that one!

Very nice design. I like the full flying stab. Thanks for posting.
When I open the V3 dxf file in Adobe Illustrator I get a: 84 cm wing span and 78 cm length. Is that correct?
Thanks,

Should be correct I think.

First, don´t read the spelling, just what i´m writing :o
A friend and I´ve tried the Morbackplans. My friend build the 4D-version (without VVP), and I build the "straight away"-version.
The drawings are very precise, and after cutting, evrything just vent together -almost without glue.........
Both planes did there maiden last sonday.
Mine flew as on tracks, a little tap on the aillerons, and a drop of nosedown.
Flyes very stable and capable of flying slow. Rolls and kniveegde are good to. Now I have to practice, practice, practice........... :)
Equipment installed is: A 40gr outrunner, NoName, Dymond 3,7 servos, 12 amp esc and 300mAh PoLyfly lipos (Price in Denmark, less than 10$ for a 2s-pack) AUW 172 gr.
I tested the 4D-version for my friend. Very similar flying caractaristics, but felt a bit heavy due to the huge fuselage.
I´ll try to put on a picture or two, lets see if it works. The other plane on the pictures are my second Silwas, build in two weeks. The first one took are terrible hit at the tailsektion, so a new one was recomended. It allso maidened sonday, and flyes very smooth. AUW 132gr.

Hello Yann.
...as far back as you dare.......
I couldn´t find this information anywhere, so I just started out with CG placed as on every other indoorplane.
The plane is not so critical with the location. I just trail and error :D
Unfortunatly my plane is burried and gone. A lightweigt depronplane vs a heavy Blade (EPP) is a bad idear

I want to build a Knuffel and have the tiled pdf file to work from. But I have difficulty getting all the separate sheets to line up due to the printer not printing right up to the edge of the sheets. The cm scale along the top/bottom edge of the paper is correct but then if I just butt-joint the sheets it doesn't work. It looks like I need to overlap the sheets by about 1 or 2mm. Is this normal or is there a trick to tiled pdf's?

MikeThere is no trick to tiled PDFs. Unfortunately, most of the producers of tiled PDFs do not seem to realize it's not a good idea to produce a PDF page that requires printing in the non-printable zone of most printers to be able to print the PDF tiles.
ScaleAndTile3 is one program that is specifically designed for scaling and tiling plans/3-views correctly. The page widths and heights for the most frequently used sizes, LETTER and A4, are 1/2" smaller than the nominal page dimensions, so printing centered on the nominal size paper leaves about 1/4" white space all around the tile, nicely missing the non-printable zone for most laser printers.
The PDFs produced by ScaleAndTile3 are always borderless, so if the user is fortunate enough to have access to a printer that is really capable of faithfully producing borderless pages, he/she can take advantage of that feature (Frankly, I see no advantage to borderless printing, as the paper alignment is not accurate enough for use to print tiled plans).
ScaleAndTile3 employs very-accurately-placed alignment aids on the tiles that make it easy to achieve correct alignment of the tiles when you are assembling a large, single-sheet plan from tiles.
ScaleAndTile3 is free for personal, non-commercial use and may not be redistributed. That means you can only get it from me, and that you may not give it to anyone else. See the threads that start with "ScaleAndTile2" and "ScaleAndTile3" over in the Foamies (Scratchbuilt) forum for more details on features, as well as how to get it, if you're interested.

Hi, 3D Man
I made my first three flights few weeks ago (in indoor) with an aerobatic plane but not a F3P one. It has been very hard to try to perform some rolls and so on ... I decided to build the Morback (not the 4D), in order to have a efficient plane to make aerobatics. I have to learn to control my stress (walls arrive very quickly !). Due the price to make this kind of plane, i think you can make your one without waiting news from someone !
Some pictures here in the next weeks to show my 3D Morback (with probably some personnal shape modifications)

The Hyperion Z1705-11 works really well with the 7x3.5 prop, however may be a bit too much current for those small cells.
www.slowflyer.ch ran some tests on the Hyperion Z1705

Where is the CG of the Morback?
I think the post #152 http://forum.modelisme.com/viewtopic.php?id=94300&p=16 says that the CG should be at 40% of the chord for the Morback 4D. I guess it should be similar for the F3P version.
I only speak english, perhaps someone else can look at this.

Where is the CG of the Morback?
I think post #11 http://forum.modelisme.com/viewtopic.php?id=103830&p=2 is talking about the CG for the F3P version of the Morback.
You can try Google language tools http://www.google.com.au/language_tools?hl=en but the translation is not very good.

I've just finished my Morback.
The only thing to do is waiting for my Schulze Alpha 435 and install it.
Tomorrow evening i'm going to fly the plane for the first time.My brother will come with me and take some photos and maybe even a video. :D

Which model?
The point of this thread is to make available plans for scratch building.
Designers will not usually want the plans distributed for planes that are being commercially produced so it's unlikely any plane you see here is available as a kit.

scandalous. " you cant you have to buy the kit" what kind of bulcrap is that. just make one and fly it till its dusted. i have built blingbling, calypso, morback, gene bond's yak, rcpowers' extra, index 2.2, my homemade 3d indoor is by far the best f3p.i have flown in 5 years ..franken3D i call him. it is a cross between knuffle/morback/manta. nice and slow rolling harriers . effortless hover/ pogo/ pogo w/torquerolling.
if i were you dont buy kits . just make a franken3d
or you can try my 45 in edge 540 plan

Pat was responding to the previous post asking where to find Clik plans. The Clik is a commercial design so as he said you can't get the plans (at least not here). So if you want a Clik you have to buy the kit.

Niels,
There is an active Index thread within this Indoor Pattern/F3P topic. You'll find it further down the page. I'm not sure which version of the Index is the "normal" version, but you'll find lots of information on all versions of the Index there.
Videos, unfortunately, are in short supply.

Hi Niels,
I didn't use the Index 1 for very long and never got any video of it. Mine's dead now so unless someone else has one they want to video it's likely to stay unrecorded!
Unfortunately as Ray said there's a bit of a shortage of Index 2 videos.
There's a few on youtube but most are of heavier versions flying outdoors rather than lightweights flying F3P. There's one I posted of my first competition effort but it's not a good advertisement for the plane. It flies a lot better than I do. I haven't had the opportunity to do any indoor flying at all in the past couple of months which is geting frustrating. I plan to do something about that shortly and I'll try and get some video of my Index 2.2 and the as yet untested Index 3 when I do.

The Clik and Spark are both sold as kits and as far as I know the designers haven't made plans freely available.

The Edge by Suhonen91 has been added to the list.
I haven't been adding much to this thread lately and it's very possible there are plans in circulation on RCGroups or elsewhere in the last year that I should have added. If you know of any that I've missed let me know and I'll try and catch up.
Thanks,

Hello,
Thankyou for the wealth of information with regards to f3p plans. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find the Arctic plan by Flandis? as his links are no longer working?
Kind Regards

Hey Aidan, If I'm not mistaken, you could use the drawings in this post as plans for the Click, right? Or are the dimesions not entirely acurate?

I am new to F3P, but a small suggestion for anyone with good kits: please take quality photos of the assembled horizontal and vertical profiles, before final assembly, and link them somewhere in this thread with the dimensions! I, for one, would gladly trace some quality plans up in AutoCAD if some decent profiles presented themselves. As for the Clik and Spark (mentioned a couple threads previous), maybe someone has the kit and wouldn't mind snapping some photos? Even if it is already fully assembled, the images don't lie. It is perfectly legal, I believe, so long as the plans are not used commercially. After all, I create templates from all the kits I have bought, and plans that I have printed (for future use when I crash, which I know I will).
I love foamies! Need more!!!

I don't wish to distribute plans in this thread for commercial designs without consent of the designer.
Whether it's done via photograph or drawing seems pretty immaterial if the intent is the same - to build a copy.
I'm not making a judgement on whether making copies of existing designs is right or wrong, I'm just not willing to introduce the issue for debate in this thread.
Leaving the ethics out of it for a moment:
Photographs are a poor replacement for drawings as perspective and other optical distortions will mean you often end up with a rather inaccurate outline. The amount of distortion will depend a lot on how the photo was taken. Angle and distance being most important but I suspect other issues will arise depending on the optics of the camera. A drawing created from a photo may look correct but the proportions will differ from the original and proportions matter. Images often do lie!
I now realise that the drawings posted earlier comparing the Clik, Manta and Index could perhaps be used as the basis of a plan but this was not the intent. The drawings were intended solely as a pictorial comparison of design proportions. If David Kyjovsky or Martin Muller wish those drawings to be removed I will oblige.
Hey Aidan, If I'm not mistaken, you could use the drawings in this post as plans for the Click, right? Or are the dimesions not entirely acurate?
I can't speak to the accuracy of the Manta and Clik outlines as I didn't draw them and haven't compared them to the real thing.
Aidan
