I am looking for something quick to get into the water. I am not new to r/c boats (done electric and sail) and not new to nitro power (fly r/c planes and helis). RTR would be great, a 2 stick radio instead of the pistol grip would be a huge plus. Chances are the water where I run will probably not always be smooth. This probably rules out one of the hydros. Should be fast enough to be entertaining. Something not too expensive.
All I have found so far is the Nitro Hammer. Are there others I should consider?

I vote for the Miss ELam Plus or any of the other Proboat hydros. The boat is fast out of the box and fun. The only thing is it does not like choppy water. I slight breeze is no biggy but if the waves are about 6" or higher the boat is too unstable. I would imagine the Miss Vegas will handle about the same on choppy water. As for having a 2 stick radio.... I honestly dont think you are going to find that in a nitro boat, at least not one of quality. You can always convert the boat to whatever radio you want. I took the Python out of my Miss Elam and replaced it with my JR XR2, no problems and now I have the benifits of a computer radio. Good luck hunting for your boat.

P.S. if you run the hydro in too choppy water you boat may look like my avatar ;)

Seeing how he doesn't want a hydro, those boats aren't what he's looking for.
I rarely if ever until now would recommend any ProBoat boat but after seeing the Thunder Cat 31 run, it's quick enough not to bore you in 5 minutes. It needs a little cheap tweaking here and there but nothing that is hard to fix.
Finding a stick radio is about impossible for any RTR boat.

I found a good deal on a Nitro Hammer, so I bought that. Also looking around at building a gas boat of some sort. That should cover the real rough water days.
As far as hydros are concerned, it looks like the best bet maybe some of the mini electrics. I already have all the battery/charger/motor stuff from my heli stock. They look extremely fast, hard to beat that.
